Snaps of the Week: Little June Bug (Part 2)

Mommy and Daddy were overjoyed with the arrival of Baby K.! I was elated too, as I was able to take some of the first photographs of the little bug. I met the couple at the hospital after the birth and then a few days later for a home session. I like to photograph newborns within in a few weeks of birth when they are alert, but still tiny and less wiggly!

And here are a couple from home where I finally was able to capture a few with his eyes open ...

Such a little wrinkle, isn't he? Adorable. I'm looking forward to watching (and photographing!) him as he grows ...

THANK YOU!

Happy Father's Day!

What a wonderful day to celebrate the love that's shared between a father and his child(ren). Our day was nice as we spent most of it relaxing at home. We had plans to take our son to a baseball game this evening, but he said he would rather squirt Dad with the hose in the backyard for Father's Day. I couldn't argue with that!

Dad was excited with a new framed collage to put on his desk at work ...

Snap Tip: Get Your Sillies On!

These two are!! They couldn't wait to show me their new swimming goggles! Little known fact - when you wear neon goggles you get the sillies! It was the perfect break from taking family portraits (a gift for their grandfather's 80th birthday).

Snap Tip: Take breaks during your session have a little fun and get the sillies out! Capture those moments of pure and unscripted personality.

Thank you Mom, Dad, A and A for inviting me in to your home and letting me a part of your lives for a morning.

Curious as to how cute these two are even without the goggles? Take a look:

Snaps of the Week: Little June Bug (Part 1)

If you're already a parent, I'm sure you can imagine the anticipation this couple is experiencing! They are expecting their first baby any day and like them, I can't wait to meet him. The timing on these photographs was perfect ... just a few weeks out and Mom's skin is radiant and her belly nice and round. Both Mom and Dad are glowing (no dark circles under the eyes YET)! Just how many more days until we meet this little bug?

To be continued ...

Special Snap: I love you baby

How sweet is this snap? At just 10 days old, this little one is already feeling so much love from his family, especially his big brother. There's never a bad time to photograph a newborn, but I find it's best to do it within a few weeks after birth whenever possible. I try to keep my schedule flexible enough to accommodate newborn sessions (this session was scheduled for late June, but baby arrived three weeks early!).
